About two times a year, we partner with the American Red Cross to host a blood drive in Mission Hall. Every unit of blood donated can save up to three lives. We are happy to host all those in our congregation and from our surrounding community who participate by donating blood. The donated blood is used to stock our local blood banks. Thanks to all of you who donate! Please let us know if you want to be involved in this life-giving ministry.

Blood Pressure Clinics:
The goal of all Health Ministries is to promote whole person health and healing as a continuation of Christ’s healing ministry. One of the ways we work toward this goal is to offer intermittent clinics where parish nurses monitor blood pressure and offer education to the participants about their blood pressure and related issues.
Flu Vaccine Clinic:
Every year in the fall, Mission Lutheran Church offers administration of the annual flu vaccine free of charge. This vaccination clinic is co-sponsored with Mission Hospital and is open to the community. The vaccine is administered by registered nurses.
“Get Fit” is a low impact exercise group for all ages. It is open to the public, and it meets Monday and Friday mornings from 9:00 – 9:45 in Mission Hall. The sessions are $5 each, and they are led by personal trainer, Carl Holmes. Everyone is welcome regardless of skill level. Just bring a mat and a fitness ball and be ready to work!
Our senior exercise class involves gentle stretching, strength exercises and an emphasis on improving balance. We meet on Mondays and Thursdays from 10:00 – 11:00 in Mission Hall. The sessions are free and weights are provided.
GriefShare is a special weekly seminar and support group for people who are grieving the death of someone close to them. There is a video seminar presented by leading grief experts. There is also a workbook that helps structure group discussion. GriefShare is a nondenominational group and features biblical teaching on grief and recovery topics. Each session is “self-contained” and can be attended in any order. GriefShare is open to the congregation and people of the community. For the next session, contact Leah Emerson.
Depression Support Group:
This ongoing group meets the first Monday of every month at 7pm in Conference Room 201 to discuss and support each other in dealing with the symptoms of depression. Group topics vary monthly and include reinforcement of lifestyle changes that can benefit those with depression as well as time for sharing. This is not group therapy, but is supportive in nature. This group is open to the community. Please contact Leah Emerson for more information.
