Sunday School

sunday-school-091

Our Sunday School program is for children ages preschool - 4th grade and is offered during both the 8:30 and 10:00 worship services.

We want children to feel welcome in church so we start worship together as a family. During the service, children are invited to come forward for “Children’s Chat”and then given the choice to attend Sunday school. While parents worship in church, they can feel confident knowing their child is having fun learning with their peers.

Children are grouped together according to grade level and our average class size is approximately ten.

We use Spark! which is an age-appropriate curriculum published by Augsburg Fortress designed to “activate faith.” There is a Bible learning goal specific for each class.

Preschool-1st grade uses the Spark Story Bible to learn key Bible stories from the Old and New Testament.

spark-bible52nd-4th graders use the Spark Bible to connect readings from worship with Sunday school.

Each class is led by a member of our Children’s Ministry team and follows the same structure:

1. Welcome kids and prepare them to hear the Bible story.

2. Open the Bible and explore the story in interactive, age-appropriate ways.

3. Try a variety of mulitsensory activities that integrate Bible learning with life.

4. Come together for a brief lesson wrap up and closing prayer.
